| As you can see (photo right), the west side of Phuket Island on the Andaman Sea is a series of coves with the surrounding area containing lush tropical vegetation and lots of hills and mountains. Nestled on the beaches of the coves you might find one or more hotels ranging from the nondescript to the luxurious. The beaches are beautiful and the waves lap ashore gently. On our tour around the island our driver stopped at many of these beautiful coves and several hilltop observation areas for us to see the splendid beauty of the island. << Phukettown as seen from an overlooking hill. While shopping was not necessarily on our agenda our driver, as you might expect, had a few places that he recommended we stop. Having just celebrated Anne's birthday with no present in hand I thought we might find something she'd like, and we did. I also had a silk jacket custom made and was happy with both the price and quality of work |
