Last Will and Testament
Adelaide Darden Person Drewry (1860 - 1940)
Southampton County, Va.

I, Adelaide D. Drewry, of Capron, Southampton County, Virginia, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking all wills by me at any time heretofore made.
1st. I desire all my just debts be paid.
2nd. I hereby direct my Executrix hereinafter named to provide a suitable marker or headstone at my grave, as reasonably soon as practical after my death, and that the cost thereof be a charge against my estate.
3rd. I give, devise and bequeath all my estate, real and personal, to my children, Sallie Drewry Moss, Gladys Drewry Porter, Esmond Drewry Jervey, Hope Drewry Fuqua, and Mary Drewry, living at my death, or the children of such as may be dead, the children of such as may be dead taking the share or shares which their respective parent or parents would receive if living, in fee simple and absolutely.
4th. I appoint my daughter, Mary Drewry, Executrix of this my last will and testament, and direct that no security be required of the said Mary Drewry as Executrix.
I authorize and empower my said Executrix, in her discretion, to sell and convey my real estate for the purpose of paying my debts, without any liability on the purchaser to see to the proper application of the purchase money.
I further authorize and direct my said Executrix to manage and care for my real property, to rent the same, and collect the rents therefrom, until such time as my legatees hereinabove named shall desire that said real property be sold or divided, and I further authorize and direct my said Executrix to distribute the net receipts from the management and rental of my property, to and among the several legatees hereinabove mentioned, according to their respective shares and interest, after first deducting the costs and expenses, and legal commissions on all gross receipts, for her services in executing this provision of my will.
