Last Will and Testament
Charity Marshall Drewry (d before 1855)
Chester County, S.C.

In the name of God Amen,
I, Charity Drury of Chester District and State of South Carolina being weak of body but of sound and disposing mind and memory; and calling to mind the uncertainty of life do make & ordain this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say:
Item. As soon after my decease as it shall be convenient for my Executor, I allow all my just debts and funeral expenses to be paid and for this purpose, I allow my Executor to sell so much of my goods and chattels as will be sufficient to pay the same; and the balance of this property whether sold or unsold to be given to my daughter Nancy Drewry, to her and her heirs forever.
Item 2d. I give bequeath & devise to my said daughter Nancy all my plantation of land containing 97 acres more or less whereon I now live bound by lands of WmA Rorbord, R.M Fadden, Lewis A Beckham, John Knox & others. Being my distribution share of the estate of my late husband C. Drewry dec'd (situate) on the waters of Rocky creek & District of Chester, this land I give her and her heirs forever. It is my intention in this my will to give all my property after paying my debts to my daughter Nancy she having lived with me, cared for me and nursed me in all my sicknesses that it may be a home for her during her life and at her death, to be later disposed, my other children have been provided for and need not that I name them in this my will further than to say that they are not unintentionally forgotten.
And lastly I constitute and appoint James B. Macgill Executor of this my last will, revoking and annulling all others by me heretofore made, Ratefying and Confirming this to be my last will and testament whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 28th day of October, 1854.
