Last Will and Testament

In the Name of God, Amen. I, Elizabeth Drewry, of Southampton County, being very sick and weak but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God; Calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all ones to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say, principally and first of all, I give and recommend my Sole into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a Christian like form at the discretion of my Executors; and touching such estate that it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life - I give, demiss and bequeath and dispose of the same in the following manner ----

Item: I give, demiss and bequeath to my son John Drewry my plantation and lands thereunto belonging, containing by estimation one hundred and seventy five acres, to him and his heirs forever ---

Item: I give, demiss and bequeath to my son Amos Drewry the plantation and lands thereunto belonging that I bought of William Unquhart and Joseph Vick containing by estimation one hundred and seventy five acres, to him and his heirs forever ---

Item: I give to my daughter Rachel Drewry one bed and furniture also one loom and gear ---

Item: I give to my daughter Lucy Drewry one bed and furniture ----

Item: I give to my daughter Diannah Drewry one bed and furniture ---

Item: I give to my daughter Dolly Drewry one bed and furniture ---

Item: I leave my house, meat, and crop of corn fodder, etc. for the use of the family ---

Item: I give all the remainder of my estate, what nature so ever, to be equally divided between my eight daughters: Rachel Drewry, Diannah Drewry, Lucy Drewry, Dolly Drewry, Sarah Slade, Elizabeth Hasly, Mary Love and Hannah Mackey.

Item: My will and desire is that my single daughters shall remain in my house uninterrupted so long as they remain single ---

Lastly I do appoint my two sons, John and Amos Drewry, as my whole and sole Executors to this my last will and testament, revoking, disannulling and making void all other wills heretofore made by me -----
