Last Will and Testament
William Drewry (1675 - 1724/25)

In the name of God Amen. I William Drewry of Charles Parish York County being whole in body and sound in mind and in good and perfect memory praised be the Almighty God for same do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following - that is to say I commend my soul to God my maker and (redeem ????) hoping for free pardon and (remission) of all my sins by the merits of my dear Saviour Jesus Christ and my body to (bore) decent burial and after my said debts and funeral charges are paid and discharged I dispose of my whole estate goods and chattels -

I give to my well beloved wife Sarah Drewry my personal effects to heir and at her (disposal), paying such small legacys as I shall hereafter (venture) out of it it - Imprimis to my well beloved brother Sam. C. Drewry so and so - To my grandson Wm. Drewry son of Jno. Drewry so and so - Items to John Drewry son of Edw. Drewry - Items to my grandson Francis Haywood son of Mrs. Haywood Dec'd. Imprimis I give to my well beloved wife Sarah Drewry my negro fellow Tom during her life and at her death (missing sentence) and to my wife Sarah my negro Peter during her life and at her death to Sam. C. Drewry son of Thos. Drewry and his heirs and if he die (witraul) (lius) (fomal) to go to the next (kuswing) heir of that family. Last of all I do appoint my wife Sarah Drewry whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament, (limping) she will see all things herein written performed and done according to her best judgment. As witness where of I have set my hand and seal this 6th day of Oct. 1723.
